For some reason I am unable to open a file of a picture that I have emailed to myself. I get the message in Hotmail that the attachemtn will not be opened because Hotmail thinks it may be a virus...... or something to this effect.

I know it's not because I'm the one sending it. I have heard of this new "feature" of Hotmail before so I know it's a configuration, yet I'm unable to find where I can do it.

Any thoughts?

There was something recently that I saw about files with a WMF extension being susceptible to infection. That, I believe is proprietary to Microsoft, so they may have arranged for Hotmail to block opening those kinds of files.

another common trick to avoid these "protections" is to rename the file's extension to something like .OLD -- also maybe ZIP it....

Zipping is a good idea, hotmail won't let me open my databases, so i zip them.

Great ideas! Thank you all for your help.....and a star for each of you! :+D
