Why don't links within an attachment work in Groupwise 5.5?
If someone sends me a document with a link to a site, it doesn't work. It won't open the browser or do anything at allI can't find any kind of setting that would change this.

Please help.

Thanks

When you open this document that has a link, are you actually opening it? or are you just viewing it? Right click on one of these attachments and see what is in bold, that would be your default. If your just viewing the document then that would be your problem, viewer technology doesn't support web links. If your opeing the document and your word processor is loading and you can't open a link from there, the problem is with the word processor program you are using, not GroupWise. Hi, as an example. I got the notification by email that you had answered my question. When I click on the Tek-Tips link embeded in the email, the cursor changes to the little hand image and when I click on thwe link nothing happens. The link changes color as if it had been used but nothing else. So it behaves normally, but then it doesn't link.
I have to say that this problem is also occurring in outlook.
Is it the way Groupwise Server is managing the messages?

Picking up a URL is up to the client, not the server. So if both Outlook and GroupWise clients are having the problem, the problem more than likely is on the workstation. Check and see what your default browser settings are. You could just have no default browser, and have IE set to not check this. Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +
