I have a Hotline Extension (35) programed to ring another Extension (17) automatically when 35 is picked up. I would like the Hotline Extension to ring several phones and can't figure out how. I tried entering a hunt group for the DATA portion (ring to) but it won't take it.

Thanks for any help.

An internal hotline extension can only be a 2 digit extension or loudspeaker page number, so you are barred from entering it as data.

To get around the restriction, you have to make it jump through a couple hoops via external hotline.

Take an extra extension port and loop it back to an extra CO line port. On the hotline phone, remove all line appearances except for the looped extension-CO line. Delete any entries for the hotline extension under #603. Assign the hotline extension under #311. Program the personal speed dial 80 for the hotdial extension from centralized telephone programming at station 10 or 11 using Feature 80 Hold 771. The hold will insert a pause (if needed) so dial tone can be established before the 771 is output. Of course, modify the hunt group as needed.

Since system phones use a digital hookswitch code to tell the system a multiline phone has gone off hook, use an analog 2500 set (no dial pad is preferred) for the hotline phone. Otherwise the system will never see the phone in use to command the hotdial to begin.

This will page a series of phones, not multiple phones at once. Substitute a calling group for the hunt group for simultaneous ring of several extensions.

I would have never thought of all that. Thank you very much for the advice. I'll give it a try. Much Appreciation, Amessana.

It seemed like I could do it at first read but after trying, I am confused.
I hooked up Extension 35 to CO line 10 (both not used) The hotline phone is at extension 34
Restricted all lines but 10 on extension 34.
Tell extension 34 to speed dial "Hold 771" when it is picked up?
Should extension 34 (hotline) ring extension 35 (emergency) which rings the Call Group?
I'm sorry but the more I read this the more confused I get.

Try this to see if it helps.
Make your hotline extension ring a spare station port, then loop back this station port to a spare CO trunk port, then assign the CO trunk using #301 to all the stations that you need to answer the hotline call.Use central programming to set this CO trunk as immmediate ring on all these stations. No lines should be assigned to the spare station port used for the loop-back.

If you restricted the lines but never removed them, you would need to use Automatic line selection to make sure you are selecting CO 10 first, otherwise it would be trying to dial out over the first avaible line. If you don't know, go into centralized programming and dial ** select line 10 and ** again. Hope this helps.
