We have a 2000 IPS switch. My issue lies with how the default Hotel Toll Restriction is set. When a guest checks in to the hotel the default phone restriction is set to 2, I would like to have the default be 1 (unrestricted) as right now the front desk agents have to manually set most rooms to restriction level 1. Thanks in advance, this site has been a great find the only one out there really that I have been able to locate.

Ack! Sorry for not including this in the main body. Another question. Is there a distance limitation for a handset from the PBX?

Analogues:
on an 8LCA about 9/10th of a mile
on an AUCA and 4LLC 7.5 miles

Digital
8DLC 1000 Feet
2DLC 2800 Feet

Digital with AC Adapter
4DLC 4000 Feet
2DLC 4000 Feet

if you have distances that are close but not working, double up your pairs to the 4 and 5 pin (I.E. wh/O and wh/Bu on pin 4 and O and Bu on pin 5) "halve the resistance, double the distance"

You may want to look at Command 1201. That is where restriction class is assigned.

to my above post I was thinking of an RJ-45 Jack pins 1-8... I should say centre pins on all RJ's

Great thanks for the distance info, very helpful.

I have not found anything in command 1201 or 12## for that matter, that controls what a guest phone defaults to upon check in. The PMS (property management system) upon check in sends notification to the pbx via an interface computer that someone has checked in. The PBX then "turns the phone on" (changes the restriction class), it is this last step of when the pbx changes the restriction class upon check in that I cant isolate.

The front desk can manually change the restriction class at a dterm that has the "set" "release" "status" function programmed into one touch keys. I believe that these keys are specialised to Hotel class restriction functionality, although the levels do correspond to command 1201, so it is tied into 1201. Ok I made this much more complicated, lol sorry.

If you have a command manual look at command 1249 and play with that

Also chack feature programming manual regarding "room cut off

Thanks for all the suggestions, it is much appreciated. I never did find the solution to change default toll restriction level upon check in. The answer may lie in PMS settings and not the PBX settings. I guess it is time to convince my boss to call in some phone support.

Try command D031>200>0 exe. This will not restrict the room on check out.

Awesome, this is the programming area I was looking for. Thanks for your help.
