I surfed upon a website the other day, it seemed like it was from download.com, but im not not certain. This program allowed the WinXP user to install multiple operating systems on the same machine. There was a screenshot that seemed like windowsXP as the main operating system, and within the XP system, there were 2 - 3 other windows open, each window was a different operating system, such as Win95, Win98 and Linux.

Im trying to locate this program, or one simulare.

Does anyone have any ideas or links to share in this? If so, please post your links or ideas below.

Thanks,
Pcglitch

Thanks for the post linney, thats not the one I saw the other day but I will certainly look into Virtual PC 2004 and try it out. It seems to do what im wanting.

Thanks again,
Pcglitch

PS.. anyone else know of another program like Virtual PC 2004?

There are others around, just Google for Virtual Computer etc.

pcglitch,

First abit of "constructive critisism": Learn to bookmark!

I don't know what you saw, but this is a narrow user base and there are not many. see the links:

This has been around and should be very stable
VMWare

If you are looking for free albeit less stable
Open Source Virtual Emulators

Hope you find the one you think you saw.

Yes, I could kick myself in the forehead, both of them even, for not bookmarking what I saw.

Nonetheless thanks for the post!

Use one of your "forehead's" (excuse the pun) to look in the Temporary Intenet Files Cache and or the History from your Browser (if you haven't cleared them and see if you can pick out the site that way?

Does "Window Washer" ring a bell? It works to dam good at times... lol

I looked at my history, but it was already .....umm "gone"

I searched high and low before posting here, and I just cant seem to find to the program I came across. I was hoping I could start a thread on this topic and someone would possibly ramble out a few programs that exist. Like what has happend so far. Thanks for the post.... IN the mean time, Im installing virtual pc 2004 and hope it will do what I want.

There is also some firewall logging, perhaps? Window Washer may not check that?

Virtual PC 2004, is pretty reliable from my point of view, make sure you read about, in the Help file (and install), the "Virtual PC Additions" or your operating systems will run like a 3 legged pig.

Don't ask my why, but I have about 10 virtual PC's on this one machine, and I am quite happy with the software.

This is a good site for all things Virtual PC 2004 -

I quite like VMWare which allows you to run various flavours of OS (Novell, *nix, MS etc).

In my mind that's one to certainly investigate.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.
