Hi
Does anyone have a method of hot desking (ie having calls directed to where ever you happen to be working).
The hot desk workers will not have phones of their own to forward and I don't want to have to set them up manually every day !
Thanks
Paulreg

You can use Ext Mobility whereby staff are given a UserID and PIN number so they can log onto any dummy/hotdesk phone with their own number.
Each user will need a profile setting up which contains their ext number. This profile is associated with their UserID that they log on with.
Phone and profiles will need configuring to use the Roaming service.
95% of our staff use this.
We have set up some fixed number phones where calls are directed to when they are not logged in.
If you have a lot of profiles and UserID'sto set up it can be made easier by the Bulk Admin Tool.

Is Ext mobility available with Call Manager Express ?
I thought this feature was only available on Call Manager ?
Thanks

I'm not too sure if this is available in CME, but possibly have the subscriber login to ccmuser page and forward the phone via their browser. They have to be CTI enabled to do so.

Sorry but I am new to CM/CME.
What is ccmuser, and CTI ?
Thanks

in \\CCM IP\ccmadmin go to User>Global Directory>Enter your name>Find>Open your directory account>Click enable CTI application User.

Then go to the left of that page and click Device association. Associate yourself with your phone.

Now go back to your browser and type \\ccm IP\ccmuser. Login with your ccm username and pw

I think what Paul is saying is that he's not using Call Manager, but rather Call Manager Express, so there is no /ccmuser page to work with.

Correct. I was actually showing how we use CCM and CTI. I noted I wasn't sure in my first response if it was in CME.

Well I've learnt a couple of things but there would not appear to be any way of hot desking in CME then ?
Thanks

No, no such feature in CME.

While there is no CCM User web page per se in CME, if you are using CUE along with CME, the users can log into a similar type web page at \\IP Address\web. Entering their User ID and PW, they are given access to the settings on their own phone similar but not as robust as the CCM User pages.

I have been told by Cisco that this (Ext. Mobility) will be added into future releases of CME, they said it might take a few rev's before it shows up, maybe like a CME 4.2 revision.
