Does anyone have any experience of 4602 handsets getting hot to the touch. I vaguely remember a bulletin or PCN about this around 12 months ago, but can now find no reference to it. Anyone else remember, or am I imagining things?

Multidisadvantaged,

i think you should replace them asap. the phone should not get hot, it's an indication of something wrong with it.

We have same problem with 4610. A lot of our customers complaints about hot handsets (speaker area).

I have experienced this problem. I think Avaya are aware of customer complaints about this. If you put a finger close to where the plastic Switch hook is you can feel warm air coming from the gap around it. Some sets seem worse than others. I seem to remember there is a compenent relatively close to the Switch hook which seems to be generating the heat. The 4602 handsets I looked at were slightly warm rather than hot but it was noticeable because normally handsets are cool to the touch. Not sure if Avaya did anything about it though I am afraid. At the time I was being told it was within spec. (approx 18 months to two years ago.)
