Help,

My company has had our e-mail hosted by our sister-company. They ran the exchange server and hosted our DNS services. Now I am bringing up our own Exchange server in our office. Since Outlook is already installed on our PC's do I need to reinstall it? If not what changes do I need to make to get Outlook to go to the new Exchange server? Last, what files do I copy to get everyones current saved, sent and outgoing e-mail from the old setup to the new?

Thanks,

Client: no reinstall required. Control panel, Mail. Double click exchange props and change server name. That is all - assuming you keep the user names the same.

Create the new Exchange box called Mail2 or whatever. On Mail1 (sister comp) use the migrate mailbox wizard. Set up Site connectors between the servers with dir repl for the global address lists. Are you going to email the Internet via your sister company or directly yourself? [sig]
Zel
zel@zelandakh.co.uk

[/sig]

No, we will be taking all control from our sister company. We want nothing left on their server and no connection. I want to store messages in the private info store as oppose to using personal folders like we do now. Can I incorporate our .pst files into our private info store mailboxes once I create them? How should I go about making this move? [sig][/sig]

I am in the process of migrating my users from ccmail to exchange. I imported my emails from ccmail to exchange and I want to remove the ccmail mailbox.

The problem I have is that we need to keep a standard through out the entire domain. I have to keep the same alias of the mailbox. I have the same alias on both mailboxes but of course different email addresses. After removing the ccmail box, I was hoping that the propagation will go a bit faster. It's been almost two days and my ccmail box still shows in the GAL and I cannot modify my email address in exchange.

I would like to find a way to expedite this problem a bit faster as I have quite a few users that will be converting from ccmail.

Thanks much in advance.
