Hosting a website behind a Linksys router

I have a site that I set up in IIS and it works on the local computer. From this point, however, I'm lost. I set up dynamicDNS, but, it only allows me to get to the login page of my Linksys RTP300 router.

If anyone can either direct me to a page that explains what I need to do, or, give me a helping hand it would be appreciated.

Turn off the remote administration feature of your router and forward tcp port 80 to the private IP address of the server.

Also remember to forward any other ports you may be using on IIS (21,443, etc)

Also I've heard that some ISP's block port 80, so you might have to change it to 8080, although I've never actually ran into this before (so it might be a myth ;-) )

You're Linksys router will need to support local loopback in order to check the functionality of the site by name. Use the local IP address in a browser if it doesn't.

I appreciate all of your responses. I actually found that the Windows Firewall didn't configure itself even though I'd acknowledged that it would do so when I installed IIS. I set up the site on a Vista computer so let's hope that this will be fixed before the RTM version.

Either way you look at it, you're still going to need to forward the ports through the router.

Very true. I did have to forward the port on the router, however, since the Windows Firewall was still on I thought that I was doing something wrong.
