Does anyone have any idea on how to go about changing the CPU ID?? I was able to change the HostID but I cannot figure out where to change the CPU ID in memory?? I know you can do it in Solaris..

I am trying to make my machine think it is another machine for testing purposes until I reboot since the changes are not permanent..

Thanks!

I've always just used:

uname -S xxxxxxx
hostname xxxxxxx

uname -S changes the text you get from uname -n.

probably best to use smit to change hostname. if you need a command version, get it from smit.script after changing.
