host lookup on JVM/Solaris

i'm having a problem on Solaris where i reference the hosts file from a servlet but if i change the hosts file the servlet engine (weblogic) or Java or something doesn't recheck the hosts file.
i'm thinking there maybe something at the OS level as in linux i don't have this problem.

Try restart the "nscd" deamon.
