Hi,

We have 60 W98 Workstations all using our Internal DNS Server but 1 particular Hosts keeps on querying the DNS Server for it's own Reverse DNS and PTR Records.

It is configured the same as all the other machines with a private ip, host name (vic19) and no domain.

Can anyone pls advise whay this keeps on happenening? The requests are coming form it ever 2mins or so....

Regards,

Greg

i found on my home network that the same thing happened when the pc in question was unable to dns @ startup to renew arp cache

nothing.. it was a 64 byte packet that really didn't concern me too much..left it as is...or you could try starting up that pc first...renews the arp cache on start up i believe but i could be wrong
