how do I adjust the horizontal spacing on a report to self align with proper spacing. I have entered the information from the field list box on the report but am not able to adjust the spacing between each text box. Example, First Name Middle Name Last Name. I need one space between each text box and need to have the box be able to expand or shrink depending on how long the entry is??

Thanks-Sarge

Sarge,

You could create a Full Name field that would have the following control source:

=[Firstname]&" "&[MiddleName]&" "&[LastName]

Then set the can grow and can shrink properties to be yes.

Thanks for the tip steve. But let me make sure I did this right. I entered the expression like you said in the box for the control source but once I save it and before I can re-open the report it now asks for a "parameter value" for the all 3 areas (i.e. Last, First, Middle Names). Is there any way to turn that off??? I already have a macro setup to print this report using the names on the current form page that I'm using...

Thanks-Sarge

Sarge97,
Did you use the field names that Steve made up or did you substitute your own field names?

Sarge97,

You will need to use the form's reference for what your first, middle and last name fields are.

Forms![NameOfForm]![FirstName], etc.

Steve,
I assumed Sarge97 had fields in the report's record source that required concatenating. This would be totally independent from any form. Unless of course, I am barking up the wrong tree.

Duane,

I thought the same thing as you but there is a reference to a form in a later post.

The concatenation will work either way as long as the control references are properly made.
