I am an Earthlink user using Bell South line. Bell South will not install a Home Run filter as I use another DSL carrier. Earthlink advises I find a private communications firm to install. I live in Atlanta (North Fulton-Roswell). Anyone aware of a competent firm I can call who will charge an arm and a leg to do this. A Bell South technician who has been to the home to do the analysis of our problem states it shouldn't take more than hour (actually much less) to isolate the single jack we want to use and add the filter. Thanks.

You want someone to place a DSL splitter outside at the telco interface, or simply plug in DSL filters? Functionally, they're about equal. The splitter is best done by a tech, but you can pick up DSL filters at Radio Shack, I imagine, and use them in front of every PHONE (the computer's jack is left unfiltered). You don't need special installs for that.

It sounds like you do need an external filter & homerun due to either distance or old wire in your house. I know someone who will do it for a reasonable fee. I'll get their number and get back with you later.

Give this company a call, NOJO communications, ask for Jacob. They can handle this for you at a good price and they do good work. Here's the number (770)749-9069 or cell (678)988-4796
