Hey,

Question for people not booting off SAN...

Anyone here have their /home LV on SAN? Or is it bound to your rootvg disks?

I am in the process of migrating from 5.1 to 5.2, and I would like to do a full system install, and just import my SAN volumes backin...

What do you have for disks installed? Hdisk 0 and 1?? It sounds like your NOT booting from SAN.
So..my suggestion would be to do an "alternate disk installation".

Your going to have to export your VG's, but it seems your aware of that. ;)

Thanks for the reponse.
I noticed my /home is actually in my rootvg now, I guess I can move it to another VG, and then export and import.

Hi,

Just to share we have home volume are on SAN and keeping only system related vol on rootvg. I think that's better options.

what about paging on SAN? good or bad idea?
