Does anyone know of any resources that describe a suggested 1 or 2 W2K Server home lab?

What I would like is a challenge to install and configure a fantasy organisation with OU's users/groups/permissions etc to help me really explore active directory.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

Try, from Microsoft MSCE 70-224 Microsoft Exchange 2000 server Implantation and Administration ISBN 0-7356-1028-2. It has fictional company and it basically holds your hand all through the book, building a company with two or more servers running Exchange 2000 (four if you include Win NT), Outlook 2000 Workstations. It is a fantastic book on Implementing and Administration of MS Server 2000 and Exchange 2000. It really is a help in understanding networking with Microsoft...(my 2 cents). It has a 120 day eval copy 2000 server, Exchange 2000 and Outlook 2000.

Thanks,

I will look out for that at a reasonable price

Sybex sells a set of books called the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.

The book you really want is the Windows 2000 Server book inside this kit. It is written by Minasi.

You can also check out the web for resources on building a Windows 2000 domain.

Try putting "Building a windows 2000 domain" in Google.
