Home Folder Drive Mapping Issue

We've recently replaced some old HP desktops with new Dell GX620's, running WXPpro. The new Dell's have the Broadcom 57xx nic's.

Problem: After initial logon to domain (W2K3 DC's), a user's home folder doesn't map properly. Normal mapping looks like this --> username on 'server\share'. New mapping looks like this --> share on 'server'. It doesn't map to the user's home folder.

Thanks in advance for any help.

so the Home folder is now mapping to the level above where it should be. The mapping is set up in AD? How - eg, is it \\server\share\%username%? If it is, is the username variable being set correctly on the new machines?

wolluf - you are correct on both points. how can i check the how the username variable is being set?

thanks

run set command from a command prompt on XP machine - gives list of variables, username should be near the bottom.

the username variable is being set correctly. a temporay solution (maybe permanent) solution we've found is to hard code the nic to 100/full. the switch is still set to auto.
