I have someone who has gone on maternity leave for a year. We want to hold her phone number and only have a message on her voicemail but not allow anyone to leave messages. We also have a new person working in her office with a new DID. How do I put her line on hold for a year and put the new person's DID to her line?

Put her phone in the phone room and forward to Vmail.

Change her vmail to info only with new message.

Give new person a new phone and number.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Or set the old target line to private and prime to Call Pilot pilot DN and remove it from the phone.

Create a new mailbox and put that old target line into the express messaging field for the new box. Log into that box and set the alternate greeting for the message you want heard and accept messages to no. Then set the target attendant for the new user or wherever you want the call to go when zeroed out.

Finally, assign the new DID target line to the phone in the office and you're done.

Thats alot of programming can he handle it?
