I have a database at work with one of the forms being where the client data entry is done. Up until about a month ago when you entered a new case the SS# stayed in that field when you entered a new record and stayed in the field until you changed it. This saved quite a bit of time because we are often entering visits for one client one right after another for several records. We had done work on the database and ever since then that function stopped working. Any ideas on how to bring it back?

Not sure because your explanatoin is Vague...
I guess you added more controls?
Look at the TAB Order????
Click "View" menu "Tab Order"
The top field is where the cursor will be when th eform is opened.
Click in the Gray to the left of the field to move it up or down. Click an hold down.

Other wise you need to be more specific as to what you did.
So we can Help.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

It sounds as if the default value was being changed for the SS field whenever a new one was entered.

Try this. For the ss# control's After Update event type this:

field.DefaultValue = [field]

Thank you Cornerstone....we are up and running great now!
