HMS400 sucks

I have a HMS400 2.0 system that has been nothing but problems from day one. My newest issue that just got found a year later is that the console operator can not transfer a guest room to an admin mailbox via express messaging, the call just hangs. They are using the EES key and have no issues transfering room to room or admin to admin, it's just another problem on this piece of crap voicemail system. I think HMS is one of the worst products Ive worked on in the past 15+ years of Nortel..just like to put that out there :)
Anyone have a resolution for this problem..I doubt it, but it's worth a try. Thanks.
 
Yes, it does suck. I agree with you there. We have multiple customers that opted to remain on Meridian Mail and use the Hospitality Packages in the switch and not go to HMS400.

I don't think I have ever heard anything good about it.
 
My guess is that it could be locked down due to potential toll fraud (?) I haven't used HMS400 but that kinda sounds like a bad situation for an operator to transfer a caller to an admin mailbox ... that is basically the same as an external caller to any company wanting to tranfer to a full permission mailbox (that likely would include outdialing). Feel free to try to figure out how to open it up, but I would advise against it (or at least lock the mailbox down more so they can't do toll fraud). Unless you want to try to explain the specifics of the admin mailbox and why a guest room needs to transfer to it via the operator (my guess is that the guest room caller doesn't want to disturb the patient so they are leaving them a voicemail via Express Messaging). Someone else on here may be able to lend assistance.

A tip I try to remember is that - Not every feature/option we can dream up can be done with the system provided to us - just because we think it should be able to do the action does not mean it can actually be done.

But, I do go out of the way for all my customer/employees cuz that is how I am.
