Hi,
Is there a way to display the HMC name from the command line of the LPAR.
Thanks

You could try and find out which socket communications are active from HMC agents on the LPAR, and from the remote IP address, work your way back to the hmc name.

You could also make an entry in /etc/hosts for "myhmc", but granted, that's an extra configuration step. And what if you have two HMCs in a hi-availability config?

HTH,

p5wizard

run
/usr/sbin/rsct/bin/lsrsrc IBM.ManagementServer Hostname

The rsct services keep the hmc name in the ODM.

I tried on two different lpars one it gave nothing on another it gave me an ip

#lssrc IBM.ManagementServer
gave me an ip address and
#nslookup ip
gave me the HMC name
Thank you all
