Im trying to identify some issues with had with our stats.
In which document can I find the information on how to set the
Historical Statistics Configuration?

Im looking to understand what is the impact when changing thos values on a live system. If they take effect right away or only after the midnight routine?

Thanks

You can find Historical Statistics Configuration information via the Help function when in 'Historical Statistics' view.

Also more information can be found in the document: Contact Center Manager Historical Reporting and Data Dictionary
For RLS 6 see:

If you use the calculate button (after changing a value) and make sure the 'Actual' value stays below the 'Required' value there should be no problem changing this on a live system.
When it is a busy contact center do this in the least busy period and you will be fine (is my experience).

The issue is we did this on a system and no stats where available between 00:00 and 2:30am. Server was not shutdown.

All we did was around 16h we change the historical stats
and applied it since it was less or equal to required value
of the DB.

Im trying to understand if they only took effect at midnight.

What would have occurred at midnight is a database purge. So, if you lowered the retention data for a particular parameter (such as how long agent login/logouts are stored), it does not take effect until midnight. Not sure why nothing was available - did it come back ok?
