Greetings Community:

I was trying to get a set count from our Siemens Hipath4k but I am not quite sure how to do it and where to look.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on your access level and level of knowledge.
There are CBL macros that convert the extension listing into excel.
There is a general count in codewords.
There are macros that are normally run for to determine amount of extensions for sales purposes. etc.
Please can you advise some more

How many cards, what types of phones, how many shelves, what version of systems, if you are unfamiliar with it then best contact your maintainer

Thanks for the reply. I am one of the maintainers not the senior guy he doesn't like to help me he wants to look good. We are using Optiset basic entry and advanced phones. 12 shelves at least 50 cards not all have phones on them. 1 IP card.

Hipath 4000
Assistant V4
RMX V4 R2.1.60/UW7 V4 R3.0.0

I hope that helps.

Are you familiar with the ComWin method of logging on or do you prefer the Assistant ?

If you are on Comwin - to get a general indication then
DIS-CODEW;
To display the license counts

Each Optiset (SLMO - Subscriber Line Module Optiset) would normally handle up to 24 OptiSets
OptiSets use proprietary ISDN of 2 Bearer and 1 Data with max 128K

A count of extension cards multiplied by 24 would give you max TDM extensions

The IP card can connect to remote shelves, SIP/SIPQ Trunking, H323 Trunking or for SIP extensions/HFA (HiPath Feature Access) Extensions

sbcsu thanks for your reply.

Either comwin or assistant would work for me.

As far as the license count goes from the information displayed it will not indicate the amount of phones in use but the amount of our maximum capacity for phones?

There isnt an AMO for just station counts?

dis-codew; will show you how many licenses you are using against how many you've purchased. Each phone (analog/digital) will use one license, a 10 channel trunk would use 10 licenses. A float phone (virtual) will not use a license but may still exist so be careful of that. dis-tdcsu; will show you how many channels (thus licenses) you are using for trunks so just knock that figure off your used value in codew if you just want the station counts.

thanks Moriendi. Once I get the data I will post what I find.

One of my favorite tools is DIS-VADSU;

That will show you all kinds of cool stuff, like how many digital sets you have and how many (if any) are in error, it will show quantities of trunks configured and if any are in error, shelves, if any cc restarts happened recently and other cool stuff. You can also see what the thresholds are before X number of errors causes a major or minor alarm in the system. This is different than licenses - you only see what is configured.

Another one is DIS-DIMSU;

Your license count is useful for what your maximum number of ports can be in the system and how many ports are in use now, but DIMSU shows you how the database table memory is allocated. For example, in the following table:

Code:

You will see that for STATIONS (of all types) the current number in use is 1783, the maximum you have ever had is 1826, and the most the system will let you have in the current configuration (Actual Limit) is 6051. In the "Standard" configuration the Actual Limit is 12000 and the maximum in any one (4000 and shelves) system is 20000.

So say you want to add another PRI trunk. Right now there are 13, down from the max of 18, and this system can have no more than 40 (as configured). Now let's make believe that 40 is actually 13. Now you are in a situation where you have 13 PRI and the most you can have is 13 (as configured). In this case you want to add a PRI - you can buy the board and install it because you have the Comscendo licenses to do so, and when you go to build it in the system you will be told you can not add any more of them - so it is important to know this table is out there and what it contains in case you run into a problem like that someday. It IS possible to change the values in that table in small amounts if needed, so you could just go in there and bump up that maximum to maybe 15 so you have room to add your circuit. I recommend only adding what you need or a little more because those values affect the system memory utilization so you don't want to crank them up for no reason! Other limits you could conceivably bump into is ACD Agents, ACD groups, AC-Win consoles, remote AP shelves with APE processors, etc....

Anyway - hope you find it useful :eek:)

If you are using the Dimensioning tool - DIMSU
then TEST-DIMSU; before and after making changes.
It should be low enough to allow the system some overhead - normally highest should be 80%
