Dear all,
We have a hipath 4000 v5 system and we want to replace our cables that is connected now to slmae cards with optical fiber cables.
Is that possible?
If so, what cards do we need to make that change?
Then in the subscribers part is there a converter that will convert these optical fibers cables into cupper cables or the telephones will need to be replaced with ones that support fiber?

You can use a Siemens AP1120 or similar from Mediatrix.
This unit gives you 2 Analogue Extensions from the Network.

That ap will replace what?
I need to know how hp 4000 v5 will be connected to subscribers via fiber cables what boards and/or devices do i need?

HiPath 4000 <----> Network (including fibre cables/switches/routers etc.) <----> AP1120 <<-->>2 analogue extensions

HiPath 4000/STMI Card <----> Network (including fibre cables/switches/routers etc.) <----> AP1120 <<-->>2 analogue extensions

Thanks for your help,
Bty, we have stmi4 which ve only two cat5 sockets. So how fiber cable would be connected. Do you mean that to use fiber, i need to use ip network in the first place then convert it to fiber then back again to cat 5 to connect to ap 1120.
In our system now we have a box near each building that contain a castera to demultiplex multipair cable into single pairs for each subscriber.
If i understood you will i will need in that box a optical to cat 5 converter and a number of ap1120 = (total number of subscribers/3).
I am newbi to that field, so, i am sorry for asking many questions.

The Fibre is only a medium of transmission, it can be converted to CAT5 and back again
Considering Fibre is a network option for distance not for telephony.
You need to consult locally with a Siemens/Unify/Telephony provider as you have specific requirements.
