Hipath 4000 v4 , won't load system ! Serious error.

The PBX had an error with the first ADP card, the system works in duplex mode. Recently 2 months ago the ADP card wen down and gone in a loop. The administration is unavailable. The second CPU card was working and the stations too, but after a couple days the trunk cards started to fall and chese groups. So the PBX was restarted.
After that it will not boot the system. We have changed two new CPU cards and one HD/CF card trying to boot without hdd with CF and with HDD, but still no luck. The errors on the cpu LEDs are number 4 and in the ADP it loops till 6 and all over again. I cannot load the atlantic or any other port to see what is going on. So we changed the 2 RTMs but still no luck. Now the setup is 2 new CPU boards and 1 ADP and stiill no luck. Could it be a problem with the box or some other component and can i read something from the service port RS323.

Difficult to troubleshoot without being there, BUT:
(1) When your ADP reaches a "6", it is attempting to find a load device (Hard Disk or CF card), so that's telling me that the ADP board is probably OK. However, since it cycles, it apparently cannot find a load device.
(2) You say that the ADP originally failed, but the SWUs continued to function. Without the ADP, the SWUs cannot access the hard drive. That's OK - the SWUs do not need to access the hard drive unless someone attempts to invoke certain features e.g. system speed.
(3) Did you remember to install the SiM card on your new ADP?
(4) cPCI power supplies OK?
(5) Fans OK?
If you combine points (1) and (2), it sounds as if the problem may be the HDCF board, or the hard drive. Unlikely, but perhaps the Switch Fabric board has failed (the top board in the cPCI shelf). This Switch Fabric board supports ethernet connectivity between the three DSCXL processors.
Since your system is already down, and there is nothing to lose, I suggest that you power down the cPCI common control shelf, then unplug ALL the boards (ADP, the two SWUs, the HDCF, and the Switch Fabric board). Do not remove these boards all the way from their slots, just pull them out an inch or so, then halt.
Now carefully re-insert the ADP, the Switch Fabric board, and the HDCF. Do so smoothly, but firmly, so that the boards are well seated. Do NOT re-insert the SWUs at this time. If the system boots, the SWUs can be plugged in later.
Now power on the cPCI shelf. By default, the ADP will attempt to load from hard drive. If that fails, I would power down the cPCI shelf, and attempt to use another DSCXL board, as perhaps the current ADP/DSCXL board is defective. Be sure to move the SiM card to the new ADP/DSCXL board! If none of the ADP/DSCXL boards successfully boot from hard drive, then the problem is most likely the hard drive.
Hopefully you have a BOOTABLE backup on CF card e.g. HDMO backup. FYI: You cannot boot from a simple HiPath Backup & Restore "Data" backup!!! If you have a bootable CF card, then ensure that this CF card is properly seated in the CF drive, then press the "LCT" button followed by the "RESET" button on the ADP. If the "LCT" LED goes out before the ADP boots, quickly press the LCT button again. You want to watch the two LEDs on the HDCF card (labeled "IDE 1" and "IDE 2") to ensure that the system attempts to access the CF (IDE 2). You hope to see that the ADP reaches a "9", which means that it found a boot device. If it successfully boots from that device, and reaches a "-.", then RMX is loaded, and the Atlantic LAN is up.
If that process fails, try again and again. As you did before, power down the cPCI shelf, and try using a different DSCXL as the ADP. Don't forget the SiM card!

Thanks for a very good post. I will try the switch , adp and HD board today and post the results. I have tried another HD board from a working pbx but still no luck. Could it be something in the shelf ? Will keep you posted.

One follow up. I cannot plug in the SWUs and any kind of board while the PBX is plugged in 220 AC! I think there is no hot swap except the HD board ?

Another follow up. I have plugged out the swus and booted with HDCF , switch and ADP, but still no luck. It reboots the adp in a loop again. No activity on IDE1 and IDE2 leds, with hdd and with MO bootable. I have found another HDCF card and inserted it inside but still no luck. Changed the ADP card with the sam SIM but still no luck. The adp goes to number 6 and restarts. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your hard drive is defective. Call Siemens service.

That was the first thing I thought of. Then I took out the hard drive from the HDCF module, and connected it to a PC and I can see the partitions and everything. Seems like the hdd is working. I have taken the module from another PBX with the CF and still no luck. Now I cannot shutdown the other PBX to test the hdd from this one , because I simply cannot. I will call the siemens service, they suspect that there is a problem with the shelf or something. But they do not have the shelf in their warehouse. I have a backup CF with PDA partition. It should boot from that I think , but the error that RS-232 null terminal windows says that is waiting for the HD but cannot see. I have unpluged the RTMs and left only ADP, switch and HDCF module and still no luck.
