DIS-UCSU; Will show you the current shelves. I took this in school and I know how to add and delete shelves, but I don't remember if it is that simple as using CHA-UCSU to change it in the 4000. THIS WILL TAKE DOWN THAT SHELF for the duration, or until you fix it if you screw it up....
You would have to do DEA-USSU to shut down the shelf before trying anything.
To change the remote end I would suggest you go to the remote site and connect to the service serial port on the front of the NCUI card using a program like putty or Comwin. THIS MAY BE SPECIFIC TO NCUI4 CARD....
Connect 38400 8 N 1 for your settings, make sure the LAN1 cable is unplugged from the board.
Press Enter a few times to get Login
Use either TRM / HICOM or HICOM / HICOM depending on the version of the card.
Prompt = vxTarget
Type = show all parameters <Enter>
This will show you all the current board settings - WRITE IT DOWN or save it.
The parameters you probably care about are:
ip_addr_eth
netmask_eth
default_gateway
I do not recomment you mess with the signalling or any other parameters on the board as most of them refer back to your main site.
Remember - whatever IP address you are assigning must be properly routed so it can sent and receive traffic from the host 4K. If the new IP cannot route to the 4K it will not work.
To begin to destroy (I mean change) your board:
vxTarget = get write access <Enter>
vxTarget = set ip address ip_addr_eth aa.bb.cc.dd <Enter>
do the same thing for the other two parameters IF necessary.
vxTarget = finish <Enter>
vxTarget = release write access <Enter>
vxTarget = logout <Enter>
Disconnect cable from service port
Plug LAN cable into LAN1 port
The card should reload now. Give it at least 20 minutes before panic sets in. If you did everything right and you have already changed the 4000 end it should come up and work as expected after it loads.
Important: case and punctuation matters.
Disclaimer: This is information based on work I have done before at MY site to replace an NCUI card - I have never changed the IP address of a shelf. IT IS POSSIBLE it is not that simple and you might have to delete the entire shelf and put it back in - in which case you will first have to delete everything off of it, delete the shelf, recreate the shelf and then recreate everything that was on it. There are some things you can do to save time and back up data if you have to do that. I typed all this from memory and a few notes I have from class.
