I have a HiPath 4000 with STMI4 programmed for IP Phones.
As I know, I can only program the STMI4 card either for IP phones or IP trunking.
Can I know the steps to program the IP Trunking?

Hi,
It can be programmed with both.
However if you have it setup for phones only then you have to delete all of that and start again to set it up for both phones and link

Really?
so you can program the STMI4 to be working with IP phones and IP trunking in the same time?
Can you tell me please how to configure it?

Will do,
Will have to copy a config from a site tomorrow and will post it here.
How many channels for the IP link will you be using ?
How many phones - are they SIP or HFA phones ?
What is the part number of the STMI4

Also what version of HiPath are you using
Thanks

I will need to to use 30 IP Trunking channels
and may be about 30 IP phones (does it make a difference the type of phones, HFA or SIP?)
I am using a HiPath 4000 V6
and part number of STMI4 will get it at Sunday

If you have a bunch of phones already built on the board you can save yourself a little work by doing some "REGEN" backups of the phones and saving them to text files with .cmd extensions before you delete everything. For example, REGEN-SBCSU with type ext and providing the extension number will give you the line of code you can use in Expert Mode (Comwin) to recreate the phone - you can do this for all the phones on that board. You can use REGEN-PERSI for the names, REGEN-ZIEL for DSS or Repdial keys, and other forwarding, etc. When I had to repartition my board I made a separate .cmd file by cutting and pasting the text output from REGEN for each function. Then when I needed to recreate the phones I loaded them in expert mode as macro files and executed them to recreate most of my stuff.

That assumes if you built any phones you started at port 1 and numbered your way up. If you have them scattered all over the board you may have to edit the PEN numbers in your file before you can recreate the phones.

Hi Saeed,
Apologies for the delay in reply.
Customer at this time of year want everything done before the new year :)

Have a go at the following and let me know if you are having problems.
This was just taken from a working version 5 system.

Following taken from a Version 5 HiPath 4000:

3530 = IP Extensions
3540 = SIP Extensions
3550 = SIP Trunking to Xpressions etc.
3570 = Remote Shelf IP Connections

Before you begin do the following commands: (as per donb01 instruction)

REG-SBCSU;
REG-SDAT;
REG-ZIEL:FWD;
REG-ZIEL:DSS;
REG-ZIEL:NAME;
REG-TAPRO:STN;
REG-ACTDA:STN;
REG-PERSI:STN;

Using PEN 1-4-79 as an example
Using STMI4 Q2324-X500 as example
Setting up some IP Phones and a 30 Channel IP Link to Xpressions Voice Mail
You have to start again with a 'blank' STMI card to program it for Phones and TDCSU

OK First we setup BFDAT Block number 20 in this example to handle IP Phones and IP Trunking

Add back in any relevant items from list above like ZIEL, PERSI, SDAT etc.

By the way the above phones are HFA.
I only use the SIP setup if I have to because HFA provides more feature integration to HiPath.
I have added Xpressions and SIP as well but not all three (yet) on the one card.

Extension for Voicemail xpressions:
ADD-WABE:5555,,,STN,N;
CHA-WABE:555,120;

Should read

Extension for Voicemail xpressions:
ADD-WABE:5555,,,STN,N;
CHA-WABE:5555,120;

Substitute the 5555 for whatever xpressions access number you have setup on the xpr server

So sorry for the late response.
Thanks a lot.
I'll try it and tell you the results :)

Hi Saeed,
i have same setup and it works for me only with dialing 888309 from an extension. the last 9 must be configured in Xpressions in IpApl in protocols, protocol Xpressions Phonemail Discrete MSN 9.
My setup for DESTNO is not working. I will post my hipath reg. later.

Hello sbcsu,
I am so so sorry for the late response, but this matter was postponed for a time :)
About your configurations, I need to ask you:
- Why did we need the LODR and the LDPLN ammos? As I do not need in my configurations an access code to dial the station in the other site (of the IP link)
- What is the NPI command in the LODR?

The HiPath needs that LODR/LDPLN/LDAT configuration to be able to connect to the STMI card which is showing up as an external device. It is only hidden for 'background routing'.

The NPI is - Network Plan Identifier - it is an extra piece of information sent to the Xpressions
In this case you will be telling the Xpressions that the number is in the International format.

Hello SBCSU :)
I really want to thank you and tell you how I appreciate your help
I am so sorry again for the late response, as this step in the project is taking some time.
I need to ask you another question, If I may
About the BFDAT, I need to know the differences between the lines and bchannels per line?
and what is the units?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
As usual there is a lot in it.
Have a read of this Link
The BFDAT explanation starts around page 31
