Anyone know how to configure the HiPath 4000 to output CDR for call in progress? Use case is to get alerted regarding emergency calls in progress instead of having to wait until the call completes. Thanks.

To be clear: you want to see a Call Detail Record immediately after someone has dialed an emergency number, such as "911". You do not want the system to wait until the caller has completed the call. Correct?

If so: I have worked with CDR for many years, and consider myself to be "proficient" - but I do not know if what you need is possible. There are eleven AMOs that MUST be involved, and many more AMOs that MAY be involved with CDR, all of which provide so many parameters and options - which is why I consider CDR to be THE most difficult HiPath 4000 "app" to master. By default the active Switching Unit compiles the pertinent raw data AFTER the call has completed, then hands that data to the ADP for proper processing & handling. My first impulse is to respond that the system was not designed to produce a CDR record immediately after a certain number is dialed (BEFORE THE CALL COMPLETES); however CDR is one of those "never say never" apps, so I will take a deep look this week if possible.

Is the goal to absolutely use CDR, or would you be interested in alternative methods to signal the occurrence of an emergency call?

I'm with you about how complicated HiPath 4000 CDR is. I am looking for any solution with or without CDR. I know I could hook up a CAP server and monitor local trunks but that seems like overkill.

While I got you, do you know how to configure the HiPath 4000 CDR so internal numbers are shown in e.164 format instead of just the extension number?

Thanks for your willingness to help.
