Hi,
Ok, if anyone could help me with this I'd be most grateful becuase, being the tool I am, I've messed with something I wasn't supposed to touch, and broke it ;-)
To begin, we got a new HiPath 3750 installed in our office last week and I connected to it this evening using HiPath 3000 Manager E software on my laptop via cross over cable to the Lan interface module in the HiPath itself. Now, when I started the Manager E software I was asked for a username and password (I used the default 633423 for both) and then went through the 'Start Wizard' and downloaded the running config\database.
I then changed the database by making a simple text change to a users name and went to write the database back to the HiPath but an dialog popped up on my screen telling me the password being used to upload was the was the default password (633423) and this would need to be changed before the new data could be uploaded, so changed the security password to '123456' and wrote the config back to the HiPath (and it worked fine.) After that I saved a local copy of the config and closed the Manager E software down.
Then about 5 minutes later I went back into Manager E (again using a username and password of 633423) and tried to download the running config/database but was told I did not have the correct privilages so I figured it was because I changed the password. So I closed down Manager E then opened it back up (this time using a username and password of 123456) and tried to download the running config\database to my laptop but again got the message that I did not have the correct privilages.
Now I am a novice when it comes to phone switches and everyone in the office told me not to touch the switch unless I knew exactly what I was doing......well yeah, but I did it anyway.....I know. Anyway, it's Friday evening now and if I can figure this out before Monday morning no one will be any the wiser so I'm hoping all the Siemens gurus out there have either seen this before\know how to override a Hicom password\know of some trick or tool to get around this , basically anything to get me out of this before Monday. I will be eternally grateful to anyone who replys.
Thanks in advance
