If you have time can you please assist me with the following:

I’m struggling with the concept of the BS4/Dect module. I have the following config:

- 1 x 3550

- 1 x control board

- 1 x evm

- 1 x imod

- 1 x cms

- 2 x BS4

- 8 x S79H

Connected 2 BS4’s onto last 2 digital ports
Manager :
- Cordless

- System wide

- System Id (inserted EIC number)

- SLC (12 ports with mobicode)

My problem is that I cant get the phones registered on the BS4. On the BS4 the green LED is permanently lit and the red led flashes (2 flash, pause, 2 flash, pause).

Any ideas?

Thank you for the help,

The red light should not be flashing. Have you connect the ext to the correct pins. No 2-3
If you look on the manager tool does it show the aerial symbol beside the ext port.

Hi, I have connected the bs4 (pin number 2 and 3) onto the last digital port on die control board. If I go on the manager it show the base station and also shows that the signal is 100%. As soon as I go to *942 19970707 (ext no) I press register on the phone but after a whil it states that it cant find a base. The BS4's green led is permanently lit and the red light flashing in 2 sec intervals.

Version 8. If I look at the BS4, from left to right , then I connect the two wires on pos 2 and 3?

I looked every where for info on the bs4 and lights could not find anything even on the dealer web site. I am sure it is from the left. Dont have one here to look at
Is the antenna symbol beside the ext with the bs4 connect to it.

Yes it is, I'm just concerned regarding the CMS or CMA module, not to sure which one I need to have installed.

You're concern is correct.I looked in the v7.0 service manual, but i think it will be the same for v8.0
And for the BS4 on a 3550 you'll need a CMA

I'm going to order a CMA now and test it, will post my findings again. Thank you.

I was looking at that too, but it shows both for the 3550 and bs4
the last one I did was on a small 500 system, and it had the cms for the BS4

I also read where the cms and cma are for the 35xx and the cma was only for the 3800 system.

Have you set up the extensions to be logged on in extension settings and then got the code under cordless?

I'm getting the CMA tomorrow. I have setup all the ext's and it shows 12 x mobicode's. After that I do the following step( Dont know if it is correct)

*942 19970707 (ext no)

I then press register on the Gigaset phone but it states that no base was found. The BS4 the green led is lit and the red one flashes 2 sec's then off then 2 secs .....

Installed a CMA module and it works 100%, thanks for all the assistance :)
