I have put a function in a column to report if the values in the column next to it are invalid if they are greater than the corresponding values in another column.

What I need to do is now highlight these invalid values as I must remove the function column that reports the Invalid values.

Any help would be appreciated

Can you have conditional formatting? I know Access has it, not sure about Excel though (or whether it would help!).

I tried conditional formatting but when I tried to drag it down the column it would not increment the formula.

Conditional formatting WILL work. The formula defaults to FULL absolute referencing - you need to change this

Highlight ALL cells you want to apply the formatting to
Format>Conditional Formatting

Assuming data is in B, comparable data is in A and you have header row:

Formula Is
=B2>A2

Set your format
Done
You only need to enter it once and as long as you type in the cell references, excel will not put $ round them Rgds
