High Resolution image in a Picturebox control

Hello, I have two picture boxes:
picWindow1.width=2415
picWindow1.height=2415

picWindow2.width=1335
picWindow2.height=1335

I realize I can use the paintpicture method to shrink picWindow1 down to picWindow2's dimensions, but this literally reduces the resolution.

Is it possible to keep the image's resolution and only change it's display size. I'm working with images that contain thin lines that sometimes disappear during the unfortunate resolution reduction.
 
Unfortunately, I don't think that image compression can be managed in code. Software such as Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro will allow you to reduce the size of the picture while maintaining image resolution to some degree by adjusting its amount of compression. Hope that helps...
