set up:
-magix (r2.x) networked back to Legend R7.0, Intuity Audix VM on legend
-Point to point T1 is split voice and data with paradyne csu/dsu

Problem:
-was working for months. data is still o.k.
-telco says it's not them.
-green leds on csu's
-legend gets dead air when 4 digit dialing to magix. Magix WAS able to call legend (that is gone now also).
-Programming is clean and verified.
-no errors on DS1 boards
-seeing hundreds of MLW FAC Timeout errors (code 0c04)
-the audix is showing hundreds (800-900) of calls for the DAY on port 8 (the rest are pretty normal for client 50-100 each port).

what I am looking for help on:
-the T1 down (sort of) and the message lamp errors, are these cause and effect or symptoms of the same problem, or unrelated coincidence.
-what is my next step....

Reset the boards and/or the systems and see if problem clears.

The message waiting lights are trying to pull dial tone just like you are and finding it unsuccessful as well.

Is there any red lights on either DS1 card?

Is one pbx set for merlin-pbx and the other merlin-network?

If all this is correct, then replace DS1 card at the legend location, and if this does not change things replace the other board.

No red lights indicate the D channel is working.(unless you have a loopback in the path somewhere)(check lights on paradyne)

Also if red light is off, place a call to the other side and see if the yellow light on the card goes on. If it does not the card is toast, if it is on then the paradyne is not passing it through to the other location.

Try this stuff for now.

Had similar problem with Networked Legends and Intuity.
We had many erros on DS1 cards that were caused by phantom mailboxes not being set to Switch ID 0 on Intuity Subscriber form.
Total system erase and reload after changing all our subs is what cleared our T's up.
Let us know what you find.

thanks for both the posts. We have an update for our listeners...

the T1 came back on it's own after two days of trying everything in the book, which makes me feel it was the telco as I suspected. However there is one exception.... I am still seeing the MWL FAC TIMEOUT errors.

Blueline, I am suspecting the MWL errors may be related to your post and the issues with the T1 simply brought our attention to the error log. These users have lots of Phantom Mailboxes. Not real sure. We are upgrading these folks to a Definity platform in a month and I am simply going to hold my breath til then. I think about the T1 or processor failing on me almost daily ***Please stay in service, PLEASE***

MWI's are run from an Intuity to Legend/Magix with the TTR resources. When a T-1 is installed as a link, then the MWI's on the far system (with respect to Intuity) must have available TTR's. It probably doesn't. If the link is made with PRI, then the D-Channel comes into play, and this isn't an issue.
