Hello,

We are running into some problems where the nlnotes.exe (client desktop) is consuming 99% of the CPU periodically (up to 5 minutes).

This causes other applications to obviously slow down and become unusable.

Has anyone experienced this? I am looking for any clues to help get me started!

Thanks
Barry

Could it happen when the server is replicating ? Or performing some other specific task, like stat gathering or running the Admin task ?

If it is a Replication task issue, maybe you should look into assigning more replicators.

Or maybe your server does not have enough RAM.

We were experiencing the same problem and finally traced it back to the Notes "Welcome Page". In some cases, the user was loading a web page with graphics that were constantly refreshing or reloading. Removing the web page from the Welcome Page setup resolved the problem. However, in other cases it wasn't quite so obvious. There was either a simple web page, or no web page at all loading. In these cases, defaulting to the Workspace instead of the Welcome Page resolved the problem.

Either way, the change was dramatic .. it fixed the problem immediately!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help!

We ended up upgrading them to the latest version of Notes, which seems to have fixed things up... for now :)

Have a great day
