I have setup a report in CR9.0 that uses Hierarchical grouping features. In my report I have placed the components in Group Header#1 to make the Hierarchical grouping option availalbe.

When i go into my Hierarchical grouping option i set the Instance ID Field to my Components (this was defaulted- none selectable greyed out). I then selected my Assembly filed for my Parent ID field.

When i run my report everything displays correctly for the 1st level however i don;t see any of my 2nd or 3rd or 4th level information. In total I have 4 level how can i get the 3 remaining level to display on the report.

All the information needed for this report is in 1 DB table therefore im only using 1 table, with 2 fields assembly and components......

Thanks in advance

It sounds like you are trying to make a multi level bill of materials report.

He is an article from Ken Hamady's blog that explains that hierarchical grouping cannot do this:
