Hiding Mapped Drives 1

Is it possible to hide a mapped drive so that it is not viewable from "My Computer" or "Explorer"?

I see that you can "Hide drives in My Computer", but can you hide only mapped drives that are located on each client computer.

Share the Drive with $ after it and it cannot be viewed over the network. Example E$.

What OS are you running?

If it is Win2K, you can hide individual drives in the Group Policy Editor, while the client still maps to them.

Is the issue an application that requires access to a network file resource so you have a mapped drive, (let's call it the S:\ drive), but this leaves you with a browsable resource in Windows Explorer that you would prefer was not available to the end user?

If this was me, I'd be attempting to connect the application to the server file structure using the UNC format to avoid the mapped drive in the first place.
