Hello everyone, I think I already know the answer to this, but I was hoping someone had a better answer. Is there any way to hide folders on a file server, so that users cannot see them? I have a folder with all our programs in it, and was wondering if I could just hide the programs that most users don't use and don't have access to, just so they don't have to weed through all of them. If it is only possible through a third party app, anyone know a good free one?
Thank You,

First give previlege to various program folders at user level, then

-How about password protecting specific folders(that has the programs)?

(or)

-Sharing the program folders with sharename$ attribute(hidden)?

Slashdot, how do you password protect specific folders? Sharing the folders with sharename$ would only work for the entire APPS drive though right?
Thank You,

wcburton, that sounds like exactly what I want. The price is $180-$300, which isn't totally killer. It seems like this would be a part of Windows Server, I would have to imagine a whole lot more people than me would want it. Now to try and convince my boss its worth it...
