Hi all,

I have an Access form connected to SQL-server.
When I start the application from Access/Archive/AccessFile.mdb I'm promted to login.
If then press 'Cancel' and choose Archive/AccessFile.mdb the second time - I get the Access database Window.

So how can I prevent the Access database Window to open the second time?
I don't want the user to see that.

Tools --> Startup... --> uncheck "Display Database Window"

However, user can still get it to display if they hold down Shift while opening the MDB.

Also, they can display it via the Window menu, choosing "Unhide..." (unless you also disable the default menues).

Hi JoeAtWork,

But I have already unchecked "Display Database Window".
I still get it.
How can I get rid of the databasewindow?

Hi,

Yes, I tried that one
but..
I figured this out myself.

When I'm promted to login to SQL-server and I press 'Cancel', then I'm already using the current database (MyAccessFile.mdb).

When the I then choose 'Archive'/MyAccessFile.mdb the second time the database window is displayed. There is no way I can prevent this.

What I have to do is to remove the default Menu bar so that the user cannot use 'Archive' the second time.
