Hi all... I have a quick question for anyone that can give me a helping hand. I have a few System DSN's in my ODBC management menu. The problem is, that some have disappeared from the listing out of nowhere. The DSN's that are now hidden still work, and if I try to create a new one with that name, I get a warning message that the DSN name already exists. Has anyone ever come across this issue and/or know of a solution? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but this is my exact question. Anyone know why/how this happens?

I'm not sure how it happens, but I call it half-in, half-out. Part of the DSN entry is in the registry, but the other part is missing - the part that you can see in the manager. The only way I know to fix it is to go into the registry, find the entry and delete it. It's under the [green]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI[/green] key - check both here for the DSN and in [green]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources[/green] for the name - most likely one of the entries is missing. Note: this is for system DSNs. For user DSNs, check under the local user.
