We currently maintain a Hicom Office E OfficeExtended 150H V1.0 which has a CBMOD CPU which has the V24 port on the front. I use Hipath Manager E 3000 via a USB to Serial and a 25 pin cable to communicate with it with no problems.
We have bought another Hicom as spares but I am struggling to connect to it. This one has 2 V24 ports on the back of the cabinet (V24/1 and V24/2), I'm using the same software and cable but its just not seeing it as online although it powers up OK (the 7 segment LED does what its supposed to).
The spares unit has a CBIB main board which I can't find any reference to online, I guess the spares unit is a newer release.
The pain is we don't have any spare back plane cables to connect an Optiset to it to look at the programming via the phone.
Any ideas on hope to go forward with this?

Have you tried turning it off then on again!

So are you saying the one you have doesn't have the 25-pin serial port on the front of the processor board? That is how I used to connect to my 150 most of the time, but I am impressed you got it to work with a USB - Serial adapter; mine was use a real serial port or go away! There is a default extension for that modem card, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

The other two serial ports in the back/bottom are typically set up for a printer and/or a CDR output terminal so I'm not sure how much luck you will have connecting to one of those to get in.

hi there,
the cbib was the older version, Hicom 200 programm style and other password.

I would not waste my time with that, it is really too old.

If you want to upgrade your system, buy some CBCPR boards and replace the cbmod cards.

If you find any of them, look at the s-numbering, if the card s-numbers ends with J2 you can upgrade
to Hipath 3000 version V6. All other CBCPR cards are working with V4.

The CBCPR you can manage with the Hipath manager.

Sorry for the bad english writing.
