So our system above uses DECT phones and the basestations we have are BS/2. As our cordless phones are starting to fail, what should I look out for to know which cordless phones are compatible with such a system?

I have asked Siemens, but they have told me that they do not support such an old system anymore, and thus would not engage in any discussion.

Any help would be great. Thanks! :)

Contact Nate Morrisette at Black Box Resale Services and he can fix you up with refurbs and possibly even new devices depending on what you ask for. He also has access to technicians that can probably answer some of your questions regarding what your options are. I have gotten great service from them (under one company name or another) for the past 13+ years.

I would be interested to know if you choose to call if they were able to help you.

You can just order any new Siemens dect phone, but make sure it a "professional" handset. This is always printed on the back of the Handset.

These are the ones that work on a Siemens system:

Gigaset S3 professional
Gigaset SL3 professional
Gigaset M2 professional, M2 EX en de M2 plus.

(the other work too, but you miss some options and every minute you hear a sharp spike on both sides)

To subscribe the handsets:

On the main phone (system phone) press:

*94219970707 then it will show enter phone number, enter the phone number. Now in the menu of the phone goto subscribe then you need the pin code. This can be found in the Manager-E this can be a random code selected by the HiCom or changed thru the Manager-E tool.

Now wait untill it flashes "Base" twice! then first call the dect from another extension if it starts to ring you done. Leave the old once off, this can cause problems.

Good luck.
