We have a rack mounted Hicom 150e and we've just been told that we need a "Panten Barrier Box" which matches the impedance from a music on hold source to the system port (approx 600ohms)? before this will work. Could someone confirm this is correct, and if so, suggest where we may source this from in the UK? I've tried some google searches with no real luck....Strange thing is, this used to work with our "old source" before it died.....!?!
Thanks for any help!!

Well, the easiest way, of course, is to use a music source with a 600 ohm output such as the Interalia Pro-MOH or the Bogen ProHold, but barring that my preferred choice is to use an Atlas-Soundolier Model LT600-VC 600 ohm matching transformer which can be had for around $50 depending on where you shop in the states. Other choices would be the Valcom VMT-1 or the Bogen WMT1A (which is the same thing in a different package). The LT600-VC is basically a PC board on a metal bracket that can be attached to a wall or something with either screws or double-sided tape, and one of the options also includes a potentiometer for level adjustment if you can't vary the output volume of your source.

Also note on the 150 that if your music source ever "flakes out" and callers complain of static when placed on hold, a simple system reset will usually restore it back to normal - assuming that your audio signal is not the source of the problem.

R1 = Resistance 1k Ohm
C1 = Condensator 0,47 uF
C2 = Condensator 0,47 uF

I hope this makes a bit sense cause i don't know if i did the translating right.

But the left side of the drawing is connected to the analog port and the right side is connected to the music source.

good luck

I am not an electronics tech, but that seems way too simple... Every one of them I ever used has a transformer coil involved in there someplace...
