Hi

My IBM laptop has recently developed a problem when powering up from hibernation resulting in either a 'blue screen system stop' or a situation where it cannot boot, requiring a restoration point deletion and total reboot.
The event viewer log indicates the failure source as 'True Vector Engine' error. I haven't loaded any new software recently and have checked for any spyware and virus issues. I am running XPP SP2.
Any help appreciated - thanks in advance

Are you running ZoneAlarm on this machine. If so, turn it completely off and see if hibernation continues to cause you a problem.

You better be running ZoneAlarm. As mentioned, shut it down and if still a problem, hose ZoneAlarm and download a new copy.

Thanks for the replies folks - hmm, I've been using the same Zone Alarm program for some time with no hibernation problems. Why should I now have problems with Zone Alarm, has something changed?
Anyway I have closed it down and it seems to have done the trick - I will now download a new copy
Thanks again for you help
