Hi there,

I have a NIC wich I have to use for connection with a ADSL ethernet modem. I had this connection set up alright and I could ping my NIC.
Because I couldn't ping the modem I called my provider and they suggested that I should try an other PCI slot for my NIC.
Since I did this I can't even ping my NIC anymore.
Does anyone know how this can be? It seems that XP remembers any old connections because first the connection was called 'LAN connection' and now it is 'LAN connection 2'

Please help me figuring this out [sadeyes]

Thanks for the help in advance.

Michel [thumbsup]

First make sure that card is really snapped in real tight. If XP set up a duplicate connection, you can likely delete the old one.

Sorry, that wasn't the problem.
It was a faulty card, strange enough.
When I tried an other one, it worked fine. So the first one goes back to the store.......

Thanks anyway.

Michel.
