Has anyone had this problem? When working in HiPath assistant and trying to look up stations I get a java 108 error. I have uninstalled java and reinstalled from the Hipath server with no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Which HiPath system do you have and what version of software is it running?

Did you try to test Java?

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

If this system is a HiPath OpenOffice, then make sure you do not use special characters in the station names i.e. " ' etc. as the page will not load, if they have been entered via the wizard, then you must go into expert mode and change the names there, once done, the wizard pages will load again...
The correct Java version is loaded from the OpenOffice download centre.

Not sure if you have resolved this problem, but here is a solution that worked for me on a Hipath 4000 Ver 2.

Fix for Java applet window error: Message ID 108 Steps (1-9)

1. On the PC, go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all installed Java Applications & all Java Runtime Environment apps

2. On the PC, use Windows Explorer to make sure the following folders are deleted:
C:\Appletcache,
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.HiPath4000
C:\Program Files\Java
C:\Program Files\JavaSoft

3. Perform a Shut down of the PC, not a restart.

4. Start up the PC

5. Perform the Client preparation steps 1-6.

6. Perform a Shut down of the PC, not a restart.

7. Start up the PC

8. Go back to Client preparation and confirm the check marks for each of the steps.

9. Do not perform the Java updates if you receive the update Java prompt.

Please note:

New versions of IE & Java are not supported at this time.
Plans are to have HP 4000 Version 4 support new JRE versions up to JRE 6, Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Vista.
The date for this release is scheduled for this Fall.

Currently the following Internet Explorer browsers are supported:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.0

The recommended JAVA is what is released with the System.
JRE version 1.3.1_01a is recommended up to JRE v1.4.2_06 which is supported.
