Hi Path 4K / adding analog line appearance on a digital phone

To All,

Is it possible to have an analog line appear on a digital phone and have that phone recorded via the Verint recording server?

I appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.

They only way I know of to have an analog line on a digital phone is to use a DSS key. In that instance you will still not be able to use the line to dial out from - if you push the button while idle it will call that number, it can show you if someone is on the phone, and if it is ringing you can be notified, and push the button to answer it.

I don't know how the Verint system works - my 2 systems for recording are via the handset cord on phones recorded all the time, and via our voicemail system thru special dialing procedures. Sorry.

I appreciate the quick response. I contacted an engineer an they told me it is not possible to have the line appearance recorded.
We are using an analog line for a blue team emergency line. The line is looped on the 66 block to each operator station with their own analog phone that accesses the same line.

I am in the process of trying to reach out to vendors that may have a better solution.

There are a number of very simple and easy to use recording solutions out there, and some that can do a lot more. For our needs I have been using equipment from Digital Loggers Inc. (DLI). I originally had 3 of their MIL4000 units that basically have 4 line ports you can record from. It runs on linux and has a web interface to allow access to the data. Those were getting old and I needed more lines so I upgraded to their 16 line uSB solution that runs on a regular PC. You can connect regular Analog lines to it, or tap the handset cord, or connect radio speaker lines for 2-way or a number of other types of audio. It comes with several handy software tools for processing and presenting the data. Otherwise look at the Viking brand for something simpler, and check Mike Sandman's site to see if he has recommendations.
