Hi,
I've Networker 6.2 on W2k SP2 with Qualstar Library TLS-412300 with AIT-3.

The Library is connect via Fibre Channel.

I have a problem witch tapes recycled. When Legato uses recycled tapes the following mistake appears:

nsrmmd #2: Failed to ENABLE \\.\Tape2 hardware compression, err_code = 23, 'unknown error 23 (0x17)'
nsrmmd #2: tape_bsf bsf failed: unknown error 23 (0x17) (268435479)
nsrmmd #2: tape_bsf bsf failed: unknown error 23 (0x17) (268435479)
nsrd: media warning: \\.\Tape2 writing: unknown error 23 (0x17), at file 31 record 1534
nsrd: media info: unload retry for jukebox `TLS-412300' failed - will retry again.
nsrd: media info: unload retry for jukebox `TLS-412300': sleeping 30 seconds

After much attempts the drive is disabled.
When Legato uses a new tapes all of work correctly.

I check the firmware of the hardware and is correct.

Firmware of FCO: R521
Firmware of AIT-3: 0102
Firmware of HBA LP8000: 3.82x1

Can somebody help me?

Thanks.

It sounds like you have a problem with the hardware. Can you use NTBackup successfully to write to a scratch tape in that drive?

I have had similar problems with our storage nodes and server connected through a brocade fibre switch to an ATL jukebox, I usually find that rebooting the switch sorts it out.
