Hi,
I'm not sure this is the right forum but:
I want to link 'out in the field operatives' back to the central computer system using their laptops. They need to query the central database and fill in forms etc.
The client I'm working for has been enthralled by purveyors of a GPRS solution which involves charging for the data transfered and not for the time connected.
My initial thought was to use W2000 server terminal services which would enable the operatives to run queries on the central system, with no data transfered except that to and from the display and keyboard.
Access to the central system will be very occasional. Running the querying software on the laptops, which would be the case if the GPRS route was followed would involve vast amounts of data being transfered.
Basically, I'm still favouring my original, Terminal Services, solution. Anyone got any comments, advice, anything?
Thanks,
John
