Hi,

I have Exchange 2000 SP3, ArcServe Brightstore 9.0 on Win2k Server machines. I'm trying to restore the
Information Store in another machine for testing with Exchange 2000 SP3 and Win2k.
This machine is in another domain and has a different name, but the site and the organization
have the same name as the original machine. When I try to restore the Information Store
I get this message:

E8603 Failed to write to database (DBANAME=Primer grupo de almacenamiento\F:\Exchsrv\Public\pub1.edb, EC=SERVER_NAME:Backup Agent Error -- (1364) "Exchange Server Error. HrESERestoreAddDatabase failed. Dismount the database.)

The stores are dismounted and it is checked the option that can be overwriten...

Any ideas?
Thanks!!

Usually the trace will provide the details on the failure. See faq478-4051 for how to enable the debug.

Yes, I did it, and that is the message that I get.

It seems like the database is mounted, but it is dismounted and the option " Allow overwrite for restoring" is checked.

Thanks in advance.

Sertec..

This happens because the name of the target serve is different from the origianl server which was backed up..

hightlight the specific store to which u r trying to restore to..
e.g
Original server that was backed up - Exchange1
Server being restored too - Exchangetest

the mailstore on the destination server will look like..

MailStore(Exchangetest) - this is the target server..

highlight this store.. press F2..
change the name within braces to match the name of ur ORIGINAL server..

now it will look like..

MailStore(Exchange1)

dismount the store.. check the option "this database can be overwritten"

The restore will work like a charm..

Have fun..

cheers
