Hi,
I have a problem when executing a query in Crystal SQL Designer from a remote computer.
The error message is :print engine error --- Unable to Open Database
It only works when the query is executed locally. But I have downloaded a shareware named SQLConn32.exe and the query is executed perfectly both locally and from a remote
workstation.
I make use of an ODBC System Data Source. The query is running on SQLConn32.Exe when
I connected to the main server,it seems that the connection is ok.
The driver which I'm using is Pervasive Software ODBC-32 and the Seagate Cystal Report Version
is 8.0.

Can you please help me.

The QRY file is on PC A
You are trying to run it from PC B

Which has the SQL Designer installed?
What steps do you take to run the QRY? Ken Hamady

PRINT ENGINE ERROR

The report is designed and compiled on PC A (Server). The data and compiled report is stored on PC A in Directory C:\RPT. On PC B C:\RPT is mapped as drive letter S where the report is executed.
A System DSN is defined on PC B pointing to the data in S:

When I'm trying to run the report, the following error message appears:
Print Engine Error -----Unable to Open database.

I had s similar problem yesterday. Using 'Database' then choosing 'Set Location' I changed the location of the database to be the same location as the .exe file. I then copied the .qry file to the location I indicated in the report. Works fine now.
